The keys to your digital world deserve a place of their own.

Uzavik Vault brings dedicated hardware and software together in a system designed to securely store, manage and access your digital credentials.

Credentials aren’t ordinary data. They shouldn’t live like it.

Everyday tools serve many purposes. Your credentials deserve a system designed specifically around their protection.

Protection is more than remembering. It’s control.

A dedicated system designed to give you greater control over how your credentials are stored, accessed and managed.

The problem

Your passwords already live somewhere.

In your browser. Logins are kept with the browser profile and, when sync is on, copied to the browser's account. They are only as protected as that computer and that account.

In a cloud manager. An encrypted copy of the vault sits on the vendor's servers so it can follow you everywhere. It is reachable from anywhere by anyone who has your account and master password.

On paper or in a spreadsheet. Nothing to breach remotely, but nothing protecting it either: no encryption, no lock, and nothing to fill a login for you.

The approach

Give important credentials a dedicated place.

Uzavik is designed around the protection and management of login credentials. Your saved logins are kept in a dedicated vault on the Uzavik device and accessed through the Uzavik application and supported browser extensions.

This gives your logins one defined place to live, on hardware you carry, instead of a browser profile, a vendor's servers or a file.

A dedicated vault

One defined place to store and use your logins.

How it works

Simple to use. Designed around security.

The basic Uzavik experience follows a straightforward flow.

  1. Set up once

Create your vault on the Uzavik device, choose a passphrase, and save the printed recovery sheet. If this is your own computer, you can mark it as trusted.

  2. Plug in and unlock

One click on a trusted computer. Your passphrase on any other.

  3. Fill a login

On a sign-in page, click the extension icon. It lists the logins saved for that exact site; choose one and your username and password are filled in. You press Sign in.

  4. Save a new login

Generate a strong password in the extension, save it to the key, and it is filled into the page for you.

  5. Walk away

Lock Windows, pull the key out, close the app, or wait five minutes. The vault locks and your passwords are wiped from memory.

Security

Security is built into how the vault works.

Uzavik uses multiple mechanisms to control how the vault is accessed, when it remains available and how access can be recovered.

Passphrase

Your primary vault secret

The secret you use to unlock your vault. It unlocks on any computer where your Uzavik device is connected.

Recovery key

A separate path to recovery

•••••••••••••••• ••••••••••••••••

When you create your vault, Uzavik creates a 32-character recovery key. It unlocks your vault if you forget your passphrase and restores a backup on a new device. Creating a new key makes the previous one unusable.

Trusted computer

A computer you choose to trust

A computer you have explicitly authorized. After an automatic lock it can unlock the vault without the passphrase; a manual lock always asks for it. It keeps an encrypted backup of your vault, protected by the computer's TPM or Windows account protection, that can be restored only with your passphrase or recovery key. You can revoke trust at any time from the Devices screen.

Locking

Locked means closed

Uzavik locks the vault automatically when:

  • you lock Windows
  • you become inactive
  • you close the app window
  • you remove the device

You can also lock it manually. Once locked, the contents of the vault are not visible until it is unlocked again.

Frequently asked questions

What is Uzavik Vault?

Uzavik Vault is a password manager that keeps your logins on a small USB key called the Uzavik VaultKey, instead of on someone else's server.

Plug the key in and your passwords are there. Pull it out and the vault locks instantly, and nothing sensitive is left behind on the computer. Everything on the key is encrypted, so even if it is lost, nobody can read what is on it.

Because your vault never leaves your hands, there is no account to be breached, no company holding your data, and nothing to subscribe to. The browser extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox fills in your logins for you, so security does not cost you convenience.

What can I store in Uzavik?

Anything you would otherwise write on a sticky note or keep in a text file.

  • Website and app logins: the site, your username and your password, with a built-in generator for strong passwords.
  • Private notes attached to any login, such as recovery codes, PINs, security questions and licence keys. Notes are protected just like passwords.

Each entry can hold the site address, so the browser extension recognises the site and offers the right login when you visit it. You can search by site, username or address, and there is no limit set by a plan or tier.

Where is my vault stored?

On your VaultKey, and nowhere else by default.

Uzavik Vault does not upload your vault to the cloud and does not keep a copy on our servers. We could not read your passwords even if we wanted to, because we never have them. The software does not connect to the internet on its own, send usage data, or need an account.

What happens if I forget my passphrase?

You can still get in, as long as you saved your recovery key.

When you create a vault, Uzavik Vault gives you a one-time recovery key. Keep it somewhere safe and offline, such as a printed copy in a drawer. If you ever forget your passphrase, the recovery key unlocks the vault and lets you set a new one. This works for every vault, whether it is a personal one or one set up for your organisation.

If you have trusted your own computer, you may not need the passphrase at all on that machine, since the vault opens automatically there.

One thing to be clear about: there is no "reset password" email, because we do not hold your passphrase or your key. That is what keeps your vault private. It also means that without the passphrase, the recovery key or a trusted computer, the vault cannot be opened by anyone, including us. Treat the recovery key like a spare house key.

What if I lose or break the device?

Restore your vault onto a blank replacement device from the backup held on your trusted computer, using your passphrase or recovery key. If the device and the backup computer are both lost, the vault cannot be recovered.

Which operating systems are supported?

Windows 11, Windows Server 2022 and Windows Server 2025. The browser extension is available for Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Firefox. There is no macOS, Linux, Android or iOS version, and the key does not work with a phone.

Can I import my passwords from Chrome?

Yes. Export them from Google Password Manager as a CSV file and import that file in the desktop app. Any entry that clashes with one already in your vault is shown to you to decide, one at a time.

Does Uzavik generate one-time codes?

No. Uzavik Vault stores logins and the notes attached to them. It does not generate one-time codes, and that is not planned.

What happens if Jivatu disappears?

Your vault keeps working. The device, the desktop app and the browser extension never connect to a Jivatu server, so there is no service to switch off and nothing you need from us to open your vault.

Locked to the world. Open to you.

Uzavik Vault keeps your passwords on a key you carry, not on someone else's server. Join early access to be among the first to hold one, or book a demonstration for your team.
